Obituary of Jason David Roberts
It is with great sadness that the Roberts family announces the sudden passing of Jason David Roberts at the age of 48. He is survived by his parents, John and Donna, his sister and brother in law, Dena and Clayton, his nephews, Keith and Connor, and his beloved cats, Charlie and Freddie.
Jason was a man of many talents and devoted his kind, generous, hard working soul to each and every one of them. From being a university disc jockey at Western University Radio, avid runner and instructor, yogi, science fiction junkie, devoted neighbour and IT guru through his jobs at Corel, Nortel and EDC; Jason was the same calm, reassuring, friendly presence that made him dear to all of us.
Jason touched many lives. Most particularly, he will be missed by his friends and family, his neighbours on DuSommet, his colleagues from EDC and the running community at both the Orleans and Slater Running Room. The online tributes and personal memories that you have all shared are a testament to him and demonstrate the adage that “...people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel”.
You left us all too early, but we are all so lucky to have had someone that is so hard to say goodbye to. Rest in Peace and know that you will live on in our hearts and the memories we have of you.
A celebration of Jason’s life will take place on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 11:00 am at Pinecrest Remembrance Services (2500 Baseline Rd., Ottawa). In person attendance will be by invitation only. By virtue of the overwhelming online tributes, and to include a much greater community in the celebration, anyone wishing to attend the service virtually can follow the following link which will begin at 11am on that day.
